Welcome to the
’24-’25 Academic Year!
A message from the President

Aloha mai kākou!
I hope each of you found time to renew, refresh, and re-energize while enjoying the quietness and relaxation that the summer brings, allowing you to recharge and lay the groundwork for an eventful and inspiring year. I always found that the beginning of the school year brings an electric energy: students returning with stories to share, the rhythmic whir of printers producing new music, the fresh air flowing into our classrooms, and the eager anticipation that signals the start of a new year. As we return to our schools and classrooms, I wish to extend my warmest greetings and a year full of joy on behalf of the Hawaiʻi Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
Over the next few days, HI-ACDA will be rolling out a few reminders and announcements for this year’s events. Please explore the HI-ACDA website for more information about our organization and details on upcoming events.
Now is a great time to ensure that your ACDA membership is current. Your membership not only supports our ongoing efforts to provide valuable resources and opportunities but also reaffirms your commitment to the growth and enrichment of choral music in Hawaiʻi. If you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to renew your membership and encourage others to join.
Let us remember that together, we can achieve remarkable things. May our voices be filled with joy, our hearts with aloha, and our minds with the dedication to inspire and uplift. Mahalo nui loa for your continued support and commitment. I look forward to the incredible music we will create together this year.
Me ke aloha pumehana,
Christopher Serrano
President, Hawaiʻi Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association
