Meet Susan Duprey

Meet Susan Duprey

After 32 years of choral conducting, I’m taking a leave of absence this fall from Kona Choral Society and Windward Choral Society to attend to family concerns. I’ll be back in January in time for our Gospel Heritage Concerts, Spring Concerts featuring Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, and our cruise around the island tour to honor the life and legacy of African-American missionary Betsey Stockton

Asking what my favorite choir experience is truly is a hard question! As a singer, probably singing the Bach B Minor Mass with the Westminster Choir in the 1990s and I think as a conductor, it was preparing and performing the Hawaiʻi premiere of Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo in 2023. The composer and his wife were in attendance, which truly made that moment special.
